Robert A. McLarty Jr. is a very experienced trial attorney with over 33 years at the New Jersey Bar. The vast majority of his experience is in the defense of civil defendants (both insured and self-insured) in a wide variety of causes. His areas of concentration are catastrophic injury, complex tort, products liability, civil rights and employment discrimination.  

     In addition, Mr. McLarty also specializes in complex insurance coverage litigation, primarily representing insurance carriers in declaratory judgment actions to determine the duty to defend under commercial general liability policies. These claims most commonly focus on the business risk exclusions and civil rights/discrimination claims dealing with intentional acts and definition of bodily injury for coverage purposes.

     Mr. McLarty has extensive trial experience in the New Jersey state courts and the United States District Court in New Jersey; having tried approximately 200 cases to verdict, with excellent results. He has also obtained judgment in over 100 insurance coverage matters; by jury trial, bench trial and motion, again with excellent results.

     Mr. Mclarty has served as an arbitrator in the New Jersey Superior Court arbitration program. He is currently a member of the New Jersey Bar Association and The New Jersey Defense Association. He received his B.A in History and his J.D. from the University of Georgia.
